A little light for life’s harder moments

About Us—

In Spanish, a candil is a guiding light. A lantern that illuminates the path in the darkest of times. This symbolizes the essence of what we strive to be for our clients: a source of understanding, support, and hope during moments of struggle.

Meet Milly

Hello! Thank you for wanting to know more about me! I always have a hard time talking about myself because I am very much an introvert and prefer to listen. So, the professional background information might be a bit short, but you can always ask me anything!

I have been working in the mental health field since 2017 and officially became a licensed social worker in 2019. I attended New Mexico State University and attended Columbia University for my Master’s degree in Social Work. Throughout my career, I have completed training in CBT, DBT, ERP for OCD, and most recently, I have been trained in EMDR therapy.

Now that the professional background is out of the way, I want to give you the tea about me!

I started Candil Counseling because I wanted to offer affordable counseling services to students, young adults, and young professionals. When I was a student, I struggled with figuring out who I was, understanding my neurodivergence, and believing that I could be successful in school and in my career. Plus, it was very hard finding affordable mental health care as a student.

My hope is that Candil Counseling can be a safe space for you where you can feel heard, understood, and become the person you want to be.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for change

Im here to help.
